Employment
Bishops oversee the efforts of quorum and Relief Society leaders as they respond to the employment needs in their ward. The office of bishop carries with it a special mandate to seek out and care for the poor and needy. The bishop should be aware of the temporal circumstances of ward members and ensure that those in need receive proper care. Support can be found through this website and each stake's Self-Reliance Services (SRS).
Self-Reliance Services (SRS)
Formerly known as LDS Employment Resource Services, Self-Reliance Services provides support and assistance to members seeking to achieve greater temporal and spiritual self-reliance in terms of employment and other areas. Bishops or the stake Self-Reliance specialist invite members to attend a Self-Reliance devotional and join a Self-Reliance group.
